Foothills Vision and Eye Care

For the last 6 months or so, I have been having trouble with my right eye. It just ACHES on occasion. I went to a Doctor of Optometry in Ft. Collins, who referred me to a clinic in The Republic of Bouldah. Well, I made that drive (Twice!) in the course of 10 days, because the OD in FC *thought* she saw a problem with my retina. To make a long story short (yeah, I know . . . too late!), there was NO problem. After cold calling Dr. Matthew Skrdla, mainly because of 350 5-star reviews on Google, I was able to get in today, Monday April 20th. Dr. Skrdla is an OD as well, in an office in The Landings. His office has been there for around five years, if I remember my conversation with "Zoey" correctly. He took all the time he needed to look at my eyes, moving me from specialty machine to specialty machine, designed to look into the depths of my eyes, if not my soul. In the end, he came up with several versions of exactly WHY my eye might be aching. I asked him to tell me in layman terms what they were, but even his "dumbed down" version was more than I can follow. Not really, but it is certainly more than I can repeat. After the exam, Zoey took over the process, showing me different frames for lenses. As a first-time customer, as she said, they offered me a 40% DISCOUNT on my first pair of glasses. The same discount will apply to the second pair as well, when *if* the first pair works out. She gave me a time frame to buy the second pair with the same discount, which, as I recall, was 90 days. I certainly felt as if it was plenty of time to evaluate the first pair. It will take a few weeks to get my new glasses in. In the meanwhile, I will make do with my 1.75 diopter "readers", which have gotten me this far. As it turns out, my right eye has an astigmatism, and BOTH eyes need 2.25 diopter correction lenses! There was more to it than that, but THAT is a good beginning. Zoey will be in touch when it's time to move forward with my new eyes. I can hardly wait!

Dr. Mahaney was GREAT! He has a great “bedside manner.” He explained things clearly and kindly without any judgment concerning my choices. I also liked the technician (unfortunately, I forgot to pay attention to her name). The reception and accounting staff were all friendly and helpful. I look forward to the next yearly exam. FYI: My husband was the first to go to here. He saw Dr. Krajewski and liked him as well.

This is the best experience I’ve had at an optometrist! It was quick, staff was courteous, the doctor was thorough and kind, and they really knew how to help me take advantage of my vision insurance benefits. I also have super cute glasses now!

Extremely professional, friendly, thorough care. From the helpful receptionist, to the kind eye tech who explained the different tests to me, to the Dr who was friendly and answered all my questions, to the gal who helped me find the perfect pair of glasses. It was my first appointment and it won't be my last!

Dr. Matthew Skrdla and his staff are very friendly, courteous, and professional. My daughters and I feel very well cared for and respected, and I am confident they have our best interests in mind. We are pleased with the service and high-quality care we receive.

Great experience! the staff and reception folks are wonderful, courteous, and everyone was on time. Dr. H was amazing. Never had such a thorough and complete examination. I am looking at cataract surgery and he was very very helpful in explaining it to me completely and clearly. I highly recommend him and this office.

I've been seeing Dr. Skrdla for at least 4 years. Appreciate that appointments don't take a lot of time and I always get accurate results. My contact there for new frames/lenses is Kelly and I think she's great! She's helped me with sunglasses (progressives) and work glasses (reader type with prescription)... she's a great listener and very helpful. I had some issues with a recent purchase and she was just 100% supportive and kind.

Everyone I met at the clinic was extremely polite, friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Easy parking, a professional, clean, friendly office environment. Dr. Skyrdla and his assistant were courteous, friendly, and very knowledgeable clearly explaining any questions I had about tests that were being done.
